Another centre midfield signing would be a good idea

Serious question

If we had full squad to choose from would Allardyce pick Nolan now ?

Re: Noble vs Nolan (against Swansea)
Noble's passing is about 100 times better than Nolan, Nolan can only pass the ball 10-20 yards and then they are simple passes, Noble plays balls with the outside of his foot, gets out of trouble time and time again when put in tight positions, he also runs a damn site more and puts a shift in. Last of all he links everything up very well.

Some people on here really don't have a clue about how football is played

Re: Noble vs Nolan (against Swansea)
Noble plays better with Morgan and Song simply because they can pass and go.
Nolan simply goes, nowhere....
Kouyate is overated, Noble is a better player.
Song,Noble,Morgan and Downing are the best passers at the club and that is when we have the best success

Not just defensively but how Song breaks from picking the ball up deep helps us build our attacks.

Re: Noble vs Nolan (against Swansea)
Noble is pretty decent when he has players around him that do all the running. He cant run and it's not his game. Some stats shite may well say he travels so many miles in a game but the majority of it is done at walking pace. If we had stuck young Poyet in the middle yesterday as he has plenty of energy we'd have been fine. As things stand him and Nolan together is a disaster and crying out to be destroyed through the middle by any teams with energetic midfielders.

Look at Southampton today at Man Utd. Ward-Prowse, Davis and Wanyama ran all game, tracked every run, burst forward when they had the chance and actually dominated the game.

Re: Noble vs Nolan (against Swansea)
Simple Nolan is a sub at best if he never played again for us who cares. Noble is a half decent grafter and most of the lower teams in the prem would play him and for us he's OK nothing more

Re: Noble vs Nolan (against Swansea)
Noble is a fantastic passer and suits well into our midfield even when the best players are back.
Problem is BFS, he knows who our best players are, but he keep playing his two pals

Re: Noble vs Nolan (against Swansea)
After we came up we had to move on players who weren't good enough like O'Neil & Taylor etc
The next step which should have happened is Nolan ,Vaz Te & OBrien going as well as better players arrived.
If we want to progress beyond our best of this season it will be the likes of Noble and Collins going and trying to make Song and Jenkinson permanent for starters and players of that quality arriving.

Re: Noble vs Nolan (against Swansea)
If all players are fit and when koyoute is back, neither of them should start for me.

Unfortunately Nolan seems to be one of the first names on the team sheet.

Noble was average Nolan was average......they are average players that's why we drew with an Average Swansea team.

We need better than both then we can really push on

Re: Noble vs Nolan (against Swansea)
I thought Nobes was excellent yesterday, and Nolan had a good game by Nolan standards.

I do think a midfield with a base of Nobes and Song is bloody strong and hopefully we'll see it again come Hull next week.
